A SMALL PIECE OF HEAVEN.....
It’s a wonderful day today
The sun shines while the earth gallantly basks in its glory
The birds are chirping as if
Expecting something special to happen
The rivers flow smoothly with the gleaming light of the heavens
The sky is blue and clear as a marble
The clouds moving about their own pace
Create these mirages that only the gods can decipher
The bountiful glaciers that flow over these
Snow clad mountains are a testament to the desires
That we all aspire to achieve some day
The sun has risen from its heavy slumber
Spreading it’s aura through time immemorial
The spruce trees shed their leaves as if
In wait for a new beginning……..

Top 5 movie performances....!!!!
Sometimes in film there are performances that prove that performance isn’t just an aspect of the art form known as film, but also an art form on its own. This is a list dedicated to that art form. Its a list that perfectly exemplifies the idea of performance as an art form. These are the performances that will be remembered till the end of film itself. These are the performances that, just for a split second, make you forget you’re watching a movie because of how much raw emotion is encapsulated in a single movie character. Each and every one of them deserves endless amounts of praise.
Anthony Hopkins set the bar and set it high for when it comes to playing serial killers and villains alike. Not all seem completely insane or out there. The truly terrifying ones are the ones who seem calm, cool, collect or even charming at times. Hannibal Lecter never once loses his confidence, he knows that if he plays his cards right he’ll be able to come out on top and with a full stomach. It’s an incredibly dark character and Hopkins plays it spectacularly.
Robert De Niro’s work in Raging Bull is the kind of performance you look at and say, “that’s not Robert De Niro, that’s Jake LaMotta”. There are so many moments where you’re watching Raging Bull and you just stop breathing at risk of missing a single line De Niro utters because everything is so real. Robert De Niro is unarguably one of the greatest actors there ever was and this stands as his greatest performance. He threw every piece of talent he has into it and it shows.
After many trials, finally in 1975 one of literature’s most treasured books was finally put on screen. One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest is one of the greatest films ever made and one of the main reasons that is, is because in it you’ll find the greatest performance from one of the greatest actors known to cinema. Everything Nicholson does in the movie is so human and real. That makes the character all the more likable and relatable as he rivals my most hated character in cinema history. Nicholson holds nothing back and throws everything he had into a performance that desperately needed every single bit of talent an amazing actor could give. Jack Nicholson is always brilliant, but him as R. P. McMurphy is perfection in every sense.
There Will Be Blood is arguably the most extensive character studies into the mind of one the most despicable basterd’s ever depicted on screen. Daniel Day-Lewis is not just one of the greatest actors known to cinema, he is the greatest actor known to cinema and his portrayal as oilman Daniel Plainview proved once and for all precisely what a performance can be. And what a performance can be, I would never be able to put into words, but the best way to put it in one word would be to say masterful.
In watching There Will Be Blood, we’re not watching Daniel Day-Lewis, we’re watching Daniel Plainview. Its almost magical that someone can truly be as fully engrossed in a character as Daniel Day-Lewis is when he acts. We get to learn every aspect of character that is Daniel Plainview in There Will Be Blood and with Daniel Day-Lewis’ acting he makes almost all performances before it seem like child’s play in comparison. Daniel Day-Lewis is the greatest actor known to cinema and what he achieves in There Will Be Blood is nothing short of one of the greatest performances of all time.
The true art of performance was never truly as prevalent as it was when Heath Ledger played the villain in the greatest movie of all time. Never, and I mean never, was pure evil encapsulated as well as it was in the character The Joker in The Dark Knight. Every movement, gesture, nervous tic, and line is calculated and made memorable by a truly brilliant performance. Heath Ledger deserves every bit of praise he gets for his portrayal as The Joker, not because of his unfortunate death, but because Heath Ledger played the greatest character ever put on screen to literal perfection.
Behind the masks and make-up of The Dark Knight, it is unquestionably the greatest example of good vs. evil that any story ever written or told has ever offered. Batman is good for the sake of being good and The Joker is evil for the sake of being evil. They need each because one is nothing without the other. Truly look into the stories of Batman and you’ll see that The Joker is just as important to the mythology as Batman is. The are the perfect example of enemies that other films aspire to have, but never will.
The Joker is a part played many times in the past, from Mark Hamill to even Jack Nicholson. He is the most important villain, not just in cinema, but in literature because he encapsulates the very idea of evil itself. Heath Ledger had a lot of work to do. In being asked to play The Joker, you’re being asked to give a truly magnificent performance or else its nothing we haven’t seen before. Heath managed to give the greatest of all time due to the use of every single ounce of ability he had. Every emotion is the purest of all evil is felt due to a man showing as that performance is an truly an art form. All I can do is thank Heath Ledger and say that I undoubtedly feel that with The Joker, he gave us the greatest performance known to cinema.

4. Robert De Niro( Raging Bull)
3. Jack Nicholson( One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest)
2. Daniel Day Lewis( There Will Be Blood)

It’s goodbye……again……………
Looking at the stars that cover this heavenly blue sky,
I feel you in my dreams,
You will always be right here beside me,
I have not lost you,
You are my lord and I shall worship you,
Even when there is no hope,
I know you will always protect me
If this was my last day today,
I would spend it with you,
You are my soul and I am your slave,
You make me feel alive,
Renewing my memories with thoughts,
Fit only for the gods
Although I can never be by your side
I know someday our love will transcend boundaries and unite us forever………….

Top 5 inspirational Olympic personalities...!!!!
The Olympics has provided us with
hundreds of memorable moments throughout its history, but some are more
inspirational than others. Here are five moments that transcend sports,
and show us the power determination and sportsmanship.
#5.
Derek Redmond
Some things are just more important
than Olympic medals – family is one of those things. British runner Derek
Redmond seemed to have finally broken free of the injuries that had plagued his
entire career coming into the 1992 Olympics. However, in the final 250
meters of the 400m semifinals, Redmond began to hobble. He fell down on
the ground in pain, with the medical staff quickly running over. However,
he got back up, and hobbled towards the finish. His father, Jim, broke
free from security and dashed onto the track. The two of them slowly made
their way across the finish line, as the crowd cheered them on. Redmond
was disqualified for being assisted, but no one really cared about the results
at that point.
#4.
Greg Louganis
American Greg Louganis, one of the
greatest divers of all time, won gold in both events in the 1984 Olympics, and
was the overwhelming favorite in the 1988 games. However, he suffered a
concussion during the preliminary round of the 3 meter event after hitting his
head on the springboard. Louganis came back to win the preliminary round,
and won the gold medal in the finals. He would also win the 10m gold a
few days later. Louganis, who is openly gay, created controversy in 1994,
when he revealed he was HIV-positive. However, experts say the other
divers were at no risk, since the chlorine in the pool would’ve killed any
trace of the HIV.
#3.
Yael Arad
Israel has dealt with a lot of
tragedy in their relatively short history as a nation. One of those
tragedies was the 1972 Munich Massacre, where 11 Israeli athletes were killed
by a pro-Palestinian terrorist group, Black September. Israel pulled out
of those Olympics afterwards, and failed to medal for decades. But
in 1992, female judoka Yael Arad won silver on the 20th anniversary
of the Munich Massacre. An emotional Arad dedicated her medal to the
victims. After retiring, she now serves as a TV commentator for
judo. She was named in a list of the 200 Greatest Israelis by the website
Ynet.
#2.
Kerri Strug
Coming into the 1996 Olympics, the
Soviet Union had never failed to win the gold medal in woman’s team
gymnastics. Their successors, Russia, were heavy favorites. USA
held a slight lead on the final rotation on the final day of competition.
However, the Americans performed poorly, lowering their lead. It all came
down to Kerri Strug. On her first vault, she under-rotated and landed
badly, damaging her ankle. Her coach, Bela Karolyi, told her she “better
do it”, so Strug stepped up and performed a nearly perfect vault, landing on
one leg. She then collapsed in agony, and was carried off by
Karolyi. Strug didn’t have to perform her vault, as Russia had a series
of mistakes on their floor exercise. But no one had any way of knowing this
at the time.
#1.
Muhammad Ali
Not every inspirational moment is
because of an athlete competing. Muhammad Ali was chosen to light the
Olympic torch at the 1996 Olympics, despite suffering from Parkinson’s in
1984. Ali has gone through a lot of controversy during his decorated
boxing career, but remains one of the most revered and respected athletes of
all time. As he carried the flame to light the torch, Ali was visibly
shaking from his disease. Despite his frail state, he remained a
determined and brave figure. The crowd quickly grew silent in respect and
awe of the outstanding athlete.
