There is nothing more beautiful than life….

There is nothing more beautiful than life….

This life is so beautiful,

Filled with so much hope and happiness,

The sweet chirping of the birds,

The perennial glaciers, the glowing snow clad mountains

Fill my soul with life and vigor,

Making me to transcend over the horizon

The gushing winds carry with them

The hymns that none can hear but feel

When my eyes are shut…….

The trees are waving their slumber arms,

As if in wait for a special friend,

The perennial rivers carry with them

These tired memories,

That can only be left behind on the sands of time…..

Friday 12 October 2012

Just wanted to share one of my poems with you.......hope you like it.....

Christmas song……!!!!!

It’s that time of the year again,

I can hear the church bells ringing in my ears,

I can’t wait to know what’s in store for me tomorrow,

will it be a day to cherish or will it be just a dream,

I can hear the footsteps again,

Are they of someone whom I know,

Or is it just my occupied mind,

Well it’s something that only my heart knows,

For I feel that something special is awaiting my arrival,

The winds are gushing in delight,

As if waiting to caress me in their arms,

There’s a glimmer of hope…that I may survive

For this night is still young to bid goodbye…..!!!!

A SMALL PIECE OF HEAVEN.....

It’s a wonderful day today

The sun shines while the earth gallantly basks in its glory

The birds are chirping as if

Expecting something special to happen

The rivers flow smoothly with the gleaming light of the heavens

The sky is blue and clear as a marble

The clouds moving about their own pace

Create these mirages that only the gods can decipher

The bountiful glaciers that flow over these

Snow clad mountains are a testament to the desires

That we all aspire to achieve some day

The sun has risen from its heavy slumber

Spreading it’s aura through time immemorial

The spruce trees shed their leaves as if

In wait for a new beginning……..

Top 5 movie performances....!!!!

Sometimes in film there are performances that prove that performance isn’t just an aspect of the art form known as film, but also an art form on its own. This is a list dedicated to that art form. Its a list that perfectly exemplifies the idea of performance as an art form. These are the performances that will be remembered till the end of film itself. These are the performances that, just for a split second, make you forget you’re watching a movie because of how much raw emotion is encapsulated in a single movie character. Each and every one of them deserves endless amounts of praise.

5. Sir Anthony Hopkins( Silence of The Lambs)

Anthony Hopkins set the bar and set it high for when it comes to playing serial killers and villains alike. Not all seem completely insane or out there. The truly terrifying ones are the ones who seem calm, cool, collect or even charming at times. Hannibal Lecter never once loses his confidence, he knows that if he plays his cards right he’ll be able to come out on top and with a full stomach. It’s an incredibly dark character and Hopkins plays it spectacularly.

4. Robert De Niro( Raging Bull)

Robert De Niro’s work in Raging Bull is the kind of performance you look at and say, “that’s not Robert De Niro, that’s Jake LaMotta”. There are so many moments where you’re watching Raging Bull and you just stop breathing at risk of missing a single line De Niro utters because everything is so real. Robert De Niro is unarguably one of the greatest actors there ever was and this stands as his greatest performance. He threw every piece of talent he has into it and it shows.

3. Jack Nicholson( One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest)

After many trials, finally in 1975 one of literature’s most treasured books was finally put on screen. One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest is one of the greatest films ever made and one of the main reasons that is, is because in it you’ll find the greatest performance from one of the greatest actors known to cinema. Everything Nicholson does in the movie is so human and real. That makes the character all the more likable and relatable as he rivals my most hated character in cinema history. Nicholson holds nothing back and throws everything he had into a performance that desperately needed every single bit of talent an amazing actor could give. Jack Nicholson is always brilliant, but him as R. P. McMurphy is perfection in every sense.

2. Daniel Day Lewis( There Will Be Blood)

There Will Be Blood is arguably the most extensive character studies into the mind of one the most despicable basterd’s ever depicted on screen. Daniel Day-Lewis is not just one of the greatest actors known to cinema, he is the greatest actor known to cinema and his portrayal as oilman Daniel Plainview proved once and for all precisely what a performance can be. And what a performance can be, I would never be able to put into words, but the best way to put it in one word would be to say masterful.

In watching There Will Be Blood, we’re not watching Daniel Day-Lewis, we’re watching Daniel Plainview. Its almost magical that someone can truly be as fully engrossed in a character as Daniel Day-Lewis is when he acts. We get to learn every aspect of character that is Daniel Plainview in There Will Be Blood and with Daniel Day-Lewis’ acting he makes almost all performances before it seem like child’s play in comparison. Daniel Day-Lewis is the greatest actor known to cinema and what he achieves in There Will Be Blood is nothing short of one of the greatest performances of all time.

1. Heath Ledger( The Dark Knight)

The true art of performance was never truly as prevalent as it was when Heath Ledger played the villain in the greatest movie of all time. Never, and I mean never, was pure evil encapsulated as well as it was in the character The Joker in The Dark Knight. Every movement, gesture, nervous tic, and line is calculated and made memorable by a truly brilliant performance. Heath Ledger deserves every bit of praise he gets for his portrayal as The Joker, not because of his unfortunate death, but because Heath Ledger played the greatest character ever put on screen to literal perfection.

Behind the masks and make-up of The Dark Knight, it is unquestionably the greatest example of good vs. evil that any story ever written or told has ever offered. Batman is good for the sake of being good and The Joker is evil for the sake of being evil. They need each because one is nothing without the other. Truly look into the stories of Batman and you’ll see that The Joker is just as important to the mythology as Batman is. The are the perfect example of enemies that other films aspire to have, but never will.

The Joker is a part played many times in the past, from Mark Hamill to even Jack Nicholson. He is the most important villain, not just in cinema, but in literature because he encapsulates the very idea of evil itself. Heath Ledger had a lot of work to do. In being asked to play The Joker, you’re being asked to give a truly magnificent performance or else its nothing we haven’t seen before. Heath managed to give the greatest of all time due to the use of every single ounce of ability he had. Every emotion is the purest of all evil is felt due to a man showing as that performance is an truly an art form. All I can do is thank Heath Ledger and say that I undoubtedly feel that with The Joker, he gave us the greatest performance known to cinema.

It’s goodbye……again……………

Looking at the stars that cover this heavenly blue sky,

I feel you in my dreams,

You will always be right here beside me,

I have not lost you,

You are my lord and I shall worship you,

Even when there is no hope,

I know you will always protect me

If this was my last day today,

I would spend it with you,

You are my soul and I am your slave,

You make me feel  alive,

Renewing my memories with thoughts,

Fit only for the gods

Although I can never be by your side

I know someday our love will transcend boundaries and unite us forever………….

Top 5 inspirational Olympic personalities...!!!!

The Olympics has provided us with hundreds of memorable moments throughout its history, but some are more inspirational than others.  Here are five moments that transcend sports, and show us the power determination and sportsmanship.

#5.  Derek Redmond

Some things are just more important than Olympic medals – family is one of those things.  British runner Derek Redmond seemed to have finally broken free of the injuries that had plagued his entire career coming into the 1992 Olympics.  However, in the final 250 meters of the 400m semifinals, Redmond began to hobble.  He fell down on the ground in pain, with the medical staff quickly running over.  However, he got back up, and hobbled towards the finish.  His father, Jim, broke free from security and dashed onto the track.  The two of them slowly made their way across the finish line, as the crowd cheered them on.  Redmond was disqualified for being assisted, but no one really cared about the results at that point.
 #4.  Greg Louganis

American Greg Louganis, one of the greatest divers of all time, won gold in both events in the 1984 Olympics, and was the overwhelming favorite in the 1988 games.  However, he suffered a concussion during the preliminary round of the 3 meter event after hitting his head on the springboard.  Louganis came back to win the preliminary round, and won the gold medal in the finals.  He would also win the 10m gold a few days later.  Louganis, who is openly gay, created controversy in 1994, when he revealed he was HIV-positive.  However, experts say the other divers were at no risk, since the chlorine in the pool would’ve killed any trace of the HIV.
#3.  Yael Arad

Israel has dealt with a lot of tragedy in their relatively short history as a nation.  One of those tragedies was the 1972 Munich Massacre, where 11 Israeli athletes were killed by a pro-Palestinian terrorist group, Black September.  Israel pulled out of those Olympics afterwards, and failed to medal for decades.   But in 1992, female judoka Yael Arad won silver on the 20th anniversary of the Munich Massacre.  An emotional Arad dedicated her medal to the victims.  After retiring, she now serves as a TV commentator for judo.  She was named in a list of the 200 Greatest Israelis by the website Ynet.
#2.  Kerri Strug

Coming into the 1996 Olympics, the Soviet Union had never failed to win the gold medal in woman’s team gymnastics.  Their successors, Russia, were heavy favorites.  USA held a slight lead on the final rotation on the final day of competition.  However, the Americans performed poorly, lowering their lead.  It all came down to Kerri Strug.  On her first vault, she under-rotated and landed badly, damaging her ankle.  Her coach, Bela Karolyi, told her she “better do it”, so Strug stepped up and performed a nearly perfect vault, landing on one leg.  She then collapsed in agony, and was carried off by Karolyi.  Strug didn’t have to perform her vault, as Russia had a series of mistakes on their floor exercise.  But no one had any way of knowing this at the time.
 #1.   Muhammad Ali

Not every inspirational moment is because of an athlete competing.  Muhammad Ali was chosen to light the Olympic torch at the 1996 Olympics, despite suffering from Parkinson’s in 1984.  Ali has gone through a lot of controversy during his decorated boxing career, but remains one of the most revered and respected athletes of all time.  As he carried the flame to light the torch, Ali was visibly shaking from his disease.  Despite his frail state, he remained a determined and brave figure.  The crowd quickly grew silent in respect and awe of the outstanding athlete.

What do you think friends.......!!!!

Can music inspire us..............?

Music is what defines life.........without words or melody......one cannot understand the deeper truths that life has to offer

All of us at one point of time would have been inspired and swept away by a particular song......or a particular musician.

So you may ask what is so special about music.......it's just a way of expressing yourself.......yes, no doubt it may be a means for sharing your feelings with the entire world......but at the same time....there are so many intricate small things that catch our attention..........it may be the musician himself......or it may be the  deeper meaning which his songs are trying to convey to the audience

I'm sure we can feel the emotion of a song......be it a depressing or glorious representation of life itself.....
The extent to which music can inspire is never-ending.......it may teach us about life through the eyes of the musician or in some cases through the musician itself.....

It’s an understatement to say to that none of us are searching for inspiration in life........honestly haven't famous immortal men and women inspired us with their works and approach towards life

There is a melody inside each one of us…….it’s just that we don’t find the time to connect with it……….

Please friends……I want to hear your opinion…….kindly comment and tell if you feel that music can bring inspiration to a person………….

some quotes about life, god and much more.............

INSPIRATIONAL QUOTES ON LIFE...

Life is metaphor of memories.......

There are those who say that life is like a book, with chapters for each event in your life and a limited number of pages on which you can spend your time. But I prefer to think that a book is like a life, particularly a good one, which is well to worth staying up all night to finish

Our lives are waves that come up out of the ocean of eternity, break upon the beach of earth, and lapse back to the ocean of eternity. Some are sunlit, some run in storm and rain; one is a quiet ripple, another is a thunderous breaker; and once in many centuries comes a great tidal wave that sweeps over a continent; but all go back to the sea and lie equally level there.

The great river-courses which have shaped the lives of men have hardly changed; and those other streams, the life-currents that ebb and flow in human hearts, pulsate to the same great needs, the same great loves and terrors. As our thought follows close in the slow wake of the dawn, we are impressed with the broad sameness of the human lot, which never alters in the main headings of its history--hunger and labour, seed-time and harvest, love and death.

Well life has a funny way of sneaking up on youWhen you think everything's okay and everything's going rightAnd life has a funny way of helping you out whenYou think everything's gone wrong and everything blows upIn your face.

MY TOP 8 INSPIRATIONAL PERSONALITIES

There are some who are born talented........and some who don't require talent...............

1. Helen Keller

Inspiration of a movie The Miracle Worker, Helen Keller was the first deaf and blind person to earn the degree of Bachelor of Arts. She was also an authoritative member of the Socialist Party ofAmerica where she openly criticized the policies of Woodrow Wilson. An illustrious author of 12 books and winner of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, Helen devoted her later life to work for the American Foundation for Blind.

2. Nick Vujicic

Victim of a rare disease Tetra-amelia syndrome, which is characterized by the absence of all four limbs, Nick Vujicic was born on december 4, 1982, in a Serbian family, in Australia. Throughout his childhood, he struggled a lot to overcome the sick mentality of society and finally at the age of 17, he established an NGO Life Without Limbs. After graduating in Accounting and Financial Planning, he started his journey as a motivational speaker of subjects revolving around meaning of life, hope and disability.

3. Stephen Hawking

Not only does God play dice, but… he sometimes throws them where they cannot be seen. Sure enough, this genius, victim of a motor neuron disease, has changed the world by his revolutionary theories. Completely paralyzed with his legs, arms and voice, Hawking’s wheelchair is attached with a computer system which is operated by an infrared ‘blink switch.’ This renowned cosmologist and Honorary Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts is admired among tech pundits for his works on gravitational singularities, black holes along with his best seller A Brief History of Time.

4. Patrick Henry Hughes

What more can I say about this dynamic and inspiring soul? This multi-instrumental musician was born blind on March 10, 1988, along with crippled limbs. An inborn patient of bilateral anophthalmia and hip dysplasia, Hughes was backed up by his father, who introduced him to piano at the early age of nine months. Hughes was spotlighted by media, when in 2006, as a student of University of Louisville, he played trumpet in the Louisville Marching Band where his father was pushing him on a wheelchair. After the exposure of his extraordinary talent, he was subsequently invited to perform across the country.

5. Ludwig Van Beethoven

One of the most celebrated phenomenon among romantic and classical composers, Beethoven was born in the family of musicians in Germany. During the adolescent, his hearing ability began to deteriorate and later he became completely deaf but this disability didn’t trespass his caliber of composing. Promoter of the modern symphony orchestra, Beethoven has established himself as a master legend in the musical arena.

6. Martin Luther King

Three decades after King was gunned down on a motel balcony in Memphis, Tenn., he is still regarded mainly as the black leader of a movement for black equality. That assessment, while accurate, is far too restrictive. For all King did to free blacks from the yoke of segregation, whites may owe him the greatest debt, for liberating them from the burden of America's centuries-old hypocrisy about race. It is only because of King and the movement that he led that the U.S. can claim to be the leader of the "free world" without inviting smirks of disdain and disbelief. Had he and the blacks and whites who marched beside him failed, vast regions of the U.S. would have remained morally indistinguishable from South Africa under apartheid, with terrible consequences for America's standing among nations.

7. Mahatma Gandhi

Mahatma Gandhi inspired the world with his faith in truth and justice for all Mankind. He was a great soul who loved even those who fought against his ideals to bring about peace with non-violence.

How could a meek and fragile person of small physical stature inspire millions to bring about a profound change in a way the mightiest had never achieved before? His achievements were nothing less than miracles — his creed was to bring peace to not only those who suffered injustice and sorrow but to espouse a new way of life for Mankind, with peace and harmony. His life was a message — a message of peace over power, of finding ways to reconcile our differences, and of living in harmony with respect and love even for our enemy.

8. Liz Murray

Elizabeth "Liz" Murray was born September 23, 1980 the Bronx, New York, to poor, drug-addicted, HIV-infected parents. She became homeless just after she turned 15, when her mother died of AIDS, and her father moved to a homeless shelter. Murray's life turned around when she began attending the Humanities Preparatory Academy in Chelsea, Manhattan. Though she started high school later than most students, and remained without a stable home while supporting herself and her sister, Murray graduated in only two years. She was awarded a New York Times scholarship for needy students and accepted into Harvard University, matriculating in the fall semester of 2000. She left Harvard in 2003 to care for her sick father; she resumed her education at Columbia University to be closer to him until 2006 when he died of AIDS. As of May 2008, she was back at Harvard working towards her degree with plans to graduate with a degree in Psychology in June 2009.

Her life became a movie in 2003 and she now works as a professional speaker, representing the Washington Speakers Bureau. That same gutsy strength that pulled her from the streets now transforms the lives of others, from student groups to business audiences in need of inspiration to overcome their own obstacles.
